Fence Company Serving Ocala & Marion County
Pick your community to see who handles permits there and what kind of fencing fits local lots.
Why the Map Matters for Your Fence
In Marion County, the rules for your fence depend on which side of a line your parcel falls on, not on the city in your mailing address. Inside Ocala city limits, Building Services generally doesn't require a permit for a residential fence 6 ft or under, but the Ocala and Tuscawilla Park historic districts need a Certificate of Appropriateness. Unincorporated communities such as Silver Springs Shores, Marion Oaks, On Top of the World and Fort McCoy fall under Marion County Building Safety. Belleview, Dunnellon and Reddick are separate municipalities, and Rainbow Lakes Estates even crosses into Levy County.
The land changes too. The southwest has 55+ communities and river towns, the northwest is thoroughbred country, and the southeast is newer subdivisions on sandy lots. Each page below covers who issues permits, the kinds of lots we see, and the fences that tend to work there, from historic picket fences to pasture wire. Don't see your community? We probably still work there. Call (352) 780-6288.
